Bowback Windsor Arm Chair

Windsor chairmaking in America began in Philadelphia. Indeed the term "Philadelphia chair" was a synonym for "Windsor chair". The originals of our "bowback" Windsor chairs are typical of the work of Joseph Henzey of Philadelphia, circa 1765-1780. The seat is Eastern white pine. Turnings are clear maple. Bows and arms are ash. Shown in Medium Stain; originals were often painted dark green or black.

Available as an unfinished kit and a "made to order" finished piece.
