Cherry Rocking Chair
At the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, the Shakers from the Mt. Lebanon, New York community were praised for combining in their chairs "strength, sprightliness, and modest beauty." The Mt. Lebanon Shakers were the first to design a line of chairs sized appropriately for those who were to use them. The No. 5 size is for average adults.
We make this Shaker Rocker from clear Pennsylvania cherry. Shown in Oil Finish; woven in 5/8" Black and 5/8" Olive/Black Stripe chair tape in a herringbone pattern.
Available as an unfinished kit and a "made to order" finished piece.
