Cherry Sewing Table
The roots of Shaker furniture design can be found in the modest country workshops of the "Federal" period (1790-1820). This finely-made sewing table from rural New Hampshire is an example. Note the square tapered legs and the delicately moulded rim to keep pins and other small objects from rolling off the top. Mortise-and-tenon joinery, with dovetailed drawer.
The original is in a private collection. We make this Sewing Table in clear cherry, with drawer interior of pine.
Available as an unfinished kit and a "made to order" finished piece.
Kit is supplied with Oil Finish, rather than stain, to bring out the natural color of the cherry wood.
