Chess Table
Dutch settlers brought the game of chess to America about 1641. We have adapted our Sewing Table for use as a gaming table. Mortise-and-tenon construction, with dovetailed drawer. Table base is solid cherry, with drawer interior of pine. Chess board top is inlaid sycamore and walnut squares. Drawer will hold chess and checker pieces. Shown in Oil Finish. Height is 26". Top is 17 5/8" x 17 5/8". Squares are 1 3/4".
Available as an unfinished kit and a "made to order" finished piece.
Staunton Design Chess Set. A solid beechwood chess piece set, weighted and felted, with hand carved knights. Perfect for both serious and casual play. King height is 3 1/2"; base diameter is 1 3/8".
